Sickly

Tissues scattered around the brown desk. The intern now has been nicknamed, “Sickly”. The girl in black dress looked pale and ghastly. She could barely catch her breath, coughing her lungs out every second of the day. The pain isn’t just the inflammatory throat, her gut shrinks and tries to escape whenever the breathway opens. Her eyes ooze tears each time she sneezes. For a moment, she managed to convince herself that Angel of Death is waiting to take over her pathetic sick soul.

Here comes a better news, the building maintenance dude decided today would be the auspicious day to fix the roof. Hence, the drilling vibrates her weak body, loud machinery noise that pierced into her fragile ears.

For once, I understood why people settled for drugs. The physical pain is so unbearable, the pain slowly sucks and drains your life, leaving you nothing but a sick body and empty soul in the end. Jokes aside, last night I was so close to snort or pop something to remove the pain. It is only flu bug. What about incurable cancer patients, severely injured accidents victims, suffering burnt trauma victims? Imagine the pain they suffer. The worst pain to suffer is the pain with no solutions, no medications, no future.
